FrenalyticsEDU Selected for IES and Digital Promise’s ATS Hub Ideas Challenge Discovery Phase

NEW YORK, NY, September 22, 2026 — FrenalyticsEDU, the innovative education technology company focused on special education and inclusive learning, has been selected as one of 27 teams advancing to the Discovery Phase of the ATS Hub Ideas Challenge, an initiative of Digital Promise.

FrenalyticsEDU’s IEP Progress Pathway, an interactive student-facing dashboard designed to transform how students experience their own IEP progress, was selected as one of the top nine submissions in the 6–12 Track serving Grades 6 to 12.

Putting Students in the Conversation – The Problem

Today, IEP progress data is primarily designed for adults: teachers, service providers, administrators, and compliance teams. Students often hear about their progress without actually being able to see, understand, or celebrate it for themselves.

FrenalyticsEDU is changing that.

The Solution

IEP Progress Pathway will transform the progress data already collected through FrenalyticsEDU into an interactive experience students can understand and use

Instead of simply presenting numbers and goal summaries, the experience will translate progress into:

• “I Can” milestones
• Growth celebrations
• Student reflection prompts
• Personalized next steps
• Age- and ability-appropriate displays

Educators will be able to customize the experience based on factors such as age, disability, and reading level, while using it during student check-ins, intervention sessions, or independent learning.

From Progress Monitoring to Student Empowerment

The innovation is simple but powerful: put the student at the center of the progress-monitoring conversation.

Teachers and families will continue to have access to the complete picture, but students will no longer be the last to know about their own growth.

The solution is designed to work inside the existing FrenalyticsEDU platform, eliminating the need for students or schools to adopt another application. FrenalyticsEDU also plans to co-design the experience with classrooms already using its platform.

Digital Promise Challenge Advances the Innovation

The ATS Hub Ideas Challenge brings together promising education innovations and provides selected teams with structured support to refine their solutions and build evidence-based Theories of Change.

The Discovery Phase runs from September 17 through December 31, 2026, with 27 selected teams, nine in each Challenge track, receiving access to expert-led workshops, resources, templates, and optional office hours.

Following the Discovery Phase, selected finalists will each receive $10,000 to continue developing their ideas. Challenge winners will each receive an additional $50,000, creating an opportunity to receive up to $60,000 in total awards.

FrenalyticsEDU will use the Discovery Phase to further develop IEP Progress Pathway, strengthen its evidence base, and prepare for potential advancement to the Prize Phase.

IEP Progress Pathway represents a fundamental shift in how schools can think about student data.

The goal isn’t simply to report progress. It’s to make progress meaningful to the student.

By helping students see where they started, recognize how far they have come, and understand where they are going next, FrenalyticsEDU is working to turn progress monitoring into a tool for engagement, confidence, self-advocacy, and lifelong learning.
